about the debate. that they're expecting way too much of mitt romney. but this being bill o'reilly, he ended up putting even more pressure on romney. >> i think the expectations for the debate are too high. particularly conservative republican americans are expecting mitt romney to go out there and do something and i don't know whether that as even possible right now. the first debate means everything. the whole world is watching this thing. this is a big, big debate on wednesday night. this is much bigger than the mccain-obama debate. >> today mitt romney traveled from boston to colorado where the debate will be held as a major player in romney's fund raiser confirmed to fox business that a few new york donors have backed away from financial commitments to the romney campaign and instead said they will spend their money to help the republicans hold on to the house of represents and pick up seats in the senate. the debates will be very important, said one person with knowledge of the matter. if romney does well, that money could come back. >>> new jersey's governor, chris christie the

for watching. mitt romney is following up his debate performance in denver last week by introducing the country to the new mitt romney. the new mitt romney is not the candidate we've seen for the last couple of years. last week romney lied about his policies on taxes, education and health care. today the candidate's positions went under the knife during a speech at the military institute. romney laid out a complete reversal on his strategy for middle east peace. >> i'll recommit america to the goal of a democratic, prosperous state living side by side in peace and security with the jewish state of israel. >> the new mitt romney is committed to a two-state solution, but this is not what mitt romney told a group of donors in private. >> priceless tape. direct from romney's mouth, you hope for some stability and hope something will happen. listen to the new mitt romney today in his opinion on hope. >> i know the president hopes for a safer, freer and more prosperous middle east aligned with us. i share this hope. but hope is not a strategy. >> the new mitt romney didn't flinch when he made a false

romney and barack obama are holed up in last-minute debate prep for tomorrow night's main event. speaking to a volunteer nevada yaeds, president obama made it sound like a college cram session minus the no doze and pizza. >> basically they're keeping me indoors all the time. it's a drag. they're making me do my homework. >> governor romney, however, may have twice the work load. he'll have two opponents on stage tomorrow, president obama and himself. eugene robinson write in "the washington post" -- it prompts to be an epic clash. mitt romney versus mitt romney. oh. and president obama will be there too. this conundrum of what we'll call the paradox of the mittens, dates back to 1994 when senator ted kennedy dropped this debate heat rock. >> on the question of the choice issue, i have supported the row v raid wade, i am pro choice, my opponent is multiple choice. >> so which bubble will the multiple choice candidate fill in on tomorrow night's test? which mitt will triumph on stage. even members of the conservative establishment aren't sure. bill o'reilly conceded mitt romney is a mystery
